Pushpa 2 Box Office Day 48: Allu Arjun’s Blockbuster Nears ₹1750 Crore but Trails Behind Aamir Khan’s Dangal

In its seventh week, Pushpa 2 is nearing the end of its theatrical run. The release of the extended version, Pushpa 2 Reloaded, on January 17 boosted collections over the weekend. However, earnings dropped by 56% to ₹65 lakhs on Monday and further declined to ₹50 lakhs on Tuesday. The film’s domestic total now stands at ₹1,229.40 crore.

Extended Version and Worldwide Collections

The extended cut includes an additional 20 minutes of footage, extending the runtime to 220 minutes, making Pushpa 2 one of the longest films in Indian cinema. On the international front, Sacnilk reported that the film’s worldwide box office collection reached ₹1,735.40 crore gross as of its 47th day in theaters. However Mythri Movie Makers stated on January 6 that the global gross had already surpassed ₹1,831 crore.

A Box Office Juggernaut, But Not Yet a Record-Breaker

Pushpa 2 is now the second-highest-grossing Indian film, surpassing blockbusters like Baahubali 2, RRR, KGF: Chapter 2, and Jawan. However, it still trails behind Aamir Khan’s Dangal, which holds the record with ₹2,080 crore worldwide. New releases like Daaku Maharaaj have slightly impacted Pushpa 2‘s earnings.

OTT Release on the Horizon

As the theatrical run of Pushpa 2 winds down, the film is gearing up for its OTT debut. According to a report by Financial Express, the streaming rights have been sold for a substantial amount. Although the official release date is yet to be announced, the producers had earlier hinted at a streaming launch 56 days after the film’s theatrical release.
